On March 1st, the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus marked a milestone as it broke ground for its first-ever student center and residential housing complex. This project is aimed at improving the campus experience for students by providing more opportunities for socializing and living on campus.
The new complex will include a 165-bed dormitory, a student center with lounges, game rooms, and study areas, as well as a dining facility, a fitness center, and outdoor recreational spaces. The project is expected to be completed by the summer of 2024.
The USF Sarasota-Manatee campus currently serves over 2,000 students, and the new facilities are expected to attract more students, provide a boost to the local economy, and enhance the university’s reputation as a top-tier institution in the state of Florida.
This project has been in the works for several years and was made possible by partnerships between the university, the state of Florida, and private donors. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by university officials, local dignitaries, and members of the community.
The USF Sarasota-Manatee campus has been steadily growing and expanding its academic programs in recent years, and this new development is a testament to its commitment to providing students with a world-class education and campus experience.
